This double album showcases The Cure’s stunning performance for Radio France’s Black Sessions, recorded at Maison de la Radio et de la Musique (the headquarters of Radio France), in Paris, on 15 October 2004.

Featured tracks include A Night Like This, Lovesong, Primary, A Strange Day, Charlotte Sometimes, The End of the World and more.

The Black Sessions – studio performances by contemporary bands and artists broadcast on the France Inter channel – are recorded in front of a live audience and featured on the station’s C’est Lenoir show. The first session in the series was transmitted in 1992 and since then numerous French and international artists have performed Black Sessions, including Arctic Monkeys, Nick Cave, Pulp, Radiohead, the Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer and many more.

Host Bernard Lenoir – often considered the French John Peel – followed The Cure’s career since their early days but had never managed to get the band onto his show, for various reasons, mostly scheduling issues. Twelve years after the very first ‘Black Session’, The Cure finally managed to play for this highly respected programme. The band’s 90-minute set consisted of eighteen songs, although two cuts were not aired, Us or Them and Alt.End.
